About Susan
Susan Pieters was the kind of kid who played hooky from school so she could hide in a tree-fort to read books. One Master’s degree and three children later, she’s still playing hooky from reality by writing fiction.
Susan writes in a variety of genres. Her literary short stories have won prizes at the Surrey International Writers’ Conference and elsewhere. Her speculative fiction has been published in Analog and Tesseracts. Dozens of her quirky and uncategorized flash fiction pieces have been published in Pulp Literature, a magazine dedicated to cross-genre writing which she helped found and where she served for three years as an acquisitions editor.
For twenty years, Susan volunteered and was a member of writing organizations including the Romance Writers of America and the Greater Vancouver Writers’ Association. She enjoyed teaching writing workshops in her community through Pulp Literature and still attends far too many conferences. Currently she is a member of the Manuscript Academy and focussed on traditional publishing.
